SCIENCE OUTDOOR PARK

LEARN SCIENCE. OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM.

Transform open spaces into hands-on learning environments where children, students and families can explore science through movement, observation, experimentation and play.

FROM STATIC DISPLAYS TO ACTIVE DISCOVERY

Discover a scientific idea through an engaging installation, question or challenge.

EXPLORE

Use simple actions and observations to see a concept in motion.

Learn through play, movement and repeatable experiments.

EXPERIMENT

A Science Outdoor Park is a purpose-designed outdoor learning environment that combines large-scale interactive science installations, engineering challenges, astronomy experiences and educational interpretation in a public setting.

Zones can be developed as individual learning clusters or combined into a continuous outdoor discovery journey, depending on site size, audience and curriculum goals.

PLAY

Explore force, motion, balance, levers, pulleys, momentum and mechanical advantage through large-scale interactive installations.

Discover planets, orbits, shadows, seasons, the Sun and the scale of the Solar System through outdoor astronomy experiences.

WHAT IS A SCIENCE OUTDOOR PARK?

Investigate vibration, frequency, echoes and communication with hands-on acoustic installations.

SCIENCE OUTDOOR PARK EXPERIENCE ZONES

Explore renewable energy, heat, light, electricity, climate and sustainable technologies through outdoor demonstrations.

PHYSICS & MECHANICS

Discover perception, balance, reaction time, coordination and human movement through interactive experiences.
Turn patterns, probability, geometry and measurement into physical challenges and visual experiences.

ASTRONOMY & SPACE

Build, test and troubleshoot with structures, mechanisms, simple machines and engineering challenges.
Explore pressure, flow, buoyancy, vortices and water movement through safe interactive fluid installations.

SOUND & WAVES

Outdoor exhibits are most effective when visitors can actively use them. Installations can be designed for self-guided discovery as well as school groups, demonstrations and facilitated learning.
A carefully planned visitor journey can turn a walk through the park into a sequence of scientific questions, experiments and discoveries.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Start with a question, visual cue or surprising scientific phenomenon.
Operate an installation and observe what changes.

HUMAN BODY & PERCEPTION

Repeat the activity, vary a condition and test an idea.
Measure movement, sound, light, force or another observable effect.

MATHEMATICS

Connect the result with the scientific principle behind it.
Discuss the experience and carry the learning back to the classroom or home.

STEM & ENGINEERING

Installations and learning zones can be configured to suit the site’s footprint, age groups, curriculum alignment, visitor flow and maintenance requirements.

WATER & FLUID MECHANICS

Giant levers, pulley systems, balance challenges, pendulum demonstrations, motion tracks and other physics-based installations.

INTERACTIVE LEARNING

Solar-system scale models, sundials, shadow experiments, orbit demonstrations and outdoor space-learning elements.
Whisper dishes, echo demonstrations, resonance and vibration installations that make sound visible and audible.

THE VISITOR JOURNEY

Solar, wind, thermal and other renewable-energy learning installations with practical demonstrations.
Oversized geometry, probability, measurement, patterns, puzzles and physical logic challenges.
